In 2008 The Pearl Trust began the sponsorship of a local girl, Teddy Asinde, putting her through catering college.
We first met Teddy in December 2006 whilst she was working at a lodge in Bujagali Falls. Having done extremely well in school, Teddy was keen to go to college to further her education, but due to financial restraints, this was not possible.
As we got to know her we realised just how much she wanted to attend college, to extend her education with the ultimate goal of getting a good, well paid job in order to support her family.
Her passion and commitment made it an easy decision for us to take.
From 2008, Teddy attended the Y.M.C.A college in Jinja Town to study a course in Hotel Management & Institutional Catering and we are happy to announce that in July 2011 she passed all her exams to gain a well earned Diploma.
Teddy now works at All Terrain Adventures in the village of Bujagali Falls, the adventure capital of Uganda.
Teddy is a wonderful young woman and a credit to her family, friends and to us – we are all so proud of her and her achievements.
“I, Asinde Teddy together with my all my family members of Buwenda, Jinja, Uganda take this opportunity to appreciate The Pearl Trust organisation for giving me a chance to go back to school and attend a course in Hotel Management and Institutional catering at Y.M.C.A Jinja, Uganda where I came out with a ‘Diploma’
I am very grateful for what Pearl Trust has done for me in all my life.
It is the best for my future and my family to.
As I have finished my course right now I am willing to work hard and help my family and some other people who are in my family.
I also want my dreams to become the truth.
Thank you so much Pearl Trust.
Long live and keep that spirit up.
Thank you so much.”
